
Would you like to get involved in fun activities around campus and in the local community? You can choose from a wide variety of opportunities including academic clubs, fraternities and sororities, honor societies, intramural sports and service clubs. Listed below are a few of the organizations our biology students often participate in and a link to all of the student organizations on campus.
UD houses the Ohio Eta chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta; a Health Pre-Professional Honors Society. AED's main goals are to bring together similarly interested students, promote interest and quality education in a pre-professional health program, and contribute to benefit charities and organizations and also the health of the community.
Beta Beta Beta is a National Biological Honor Society. The University of Dayton chapter, Theta Kappa, is open to all Biology and Biochemistry majors. The honor society's goals are three-fold: to strengthen the relationships between students and faculty, provide service to the community, and also to provide an awareness of the biological sciences.
Healing Hearts is a service organization that promotes community service in healthcare facilities. The goal of the club is to encourage students to volunteer in nursing homes, hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Healing Hearts also raises money for healthcare facilities.
The UD Rescue Squad is a group of students with EMT training that serve the University of Dayton community with 24/7 emergency medical service. Members of the Rescue Squad serve the community well while gaining incredible experience for the future.
Founded by renowned primatologist Jane Goodall, Roots and Shoots is a global nonprofit that empowers people to make a difference for all living things. We are for creating healthy ecosystems, promoting sustainable livelihoods and educating new generations of committed, active citizens around the world to deal with respect for ALL species including the Human species. Our primary goals are to increase the environmental awareness of ALL members of our community, and for members to actively promote change and conservation NOW to protect ALL resources for future generations. The UD Chapter of Roots and Shoots is open to ALL members of the UD community AND members of the Dayton Community!
The goal of the Sustainability Club, a service organization, is fostering sustainable practices through education and action. Club members work with students, the U.D. community and companies to encourage sustainable living.
